The Trust's flagship camp, on the Runde directly opposite the park's famous 180-metre sandstone cliffs. Six en-suite Meru tents with a camp attendant and chef, so it is catered comfort in a genuinely remote setting. Water is untreated borehole supply, so bring your own drinking water.

What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Gonarezhou National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Rates are the Gonarezhou Conservation Trust's own published figures and operators' rate cards, gathered July 2026, quoted Local / SADC / International where the Trust publishes all three tiers. Accommodation rates generally exclude the daily conservation fee; confirm the total with the Trust when you book. Two names you may still find elsewhere, Mahenye Lodge and Senuko, could not be verified as currently operating: their websites no longer resolve and neither appears on any current operator list.

Is Chilojo Bush Camp good for families?
We found no published minimum age for Chilojo on the Trust's bush camps page, so ask when you enquire. Extra guests on a stretcher bed are charged per person, which suggests children can be added, but confirm ages and any drive or walk restrictions directly with gbc@gonarezhou.org before booking.
What does the rate at Chilojo Bush Camp include?
The nightly rate of $600 to $720, Local to International, covers accommodation only, with an in-house chef and attendant. Conservation fees, community levies and vehicle fees are charged separately, and food is not included, so you bring your own groceries for the chef to prepare.
Can you self-drive to Chilojo Bush Camp?
The Trust's general guidance for the park is a high-clearance vehicle at least, with four-wheel drive preferred on remote routes, and it recommends travelling in two vehicles with recovery gear through sand-river country. Chilojo's own page gives no specific driving directions, so confirm your route with gbc@gonarezhou.org, or fly into the pre-authorised Chipinda Pools airstrip.
When is Chilojo Bush Camp open?
Chilojo is one of the Trust's remote camps, which it says close from late November to March or April; confirm exact dates when you book, since the Trust does not publish a fixed closing date. Outside that wet-season window the camp runs year-round, weather and access permitting.
